GrowPoint,
We are swelling with anticipation for 2022! We are confident that God will continue to reveal His faithfulness to this church! In faithful fashion, He is our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace! It is on you and me to whole-heartedly pursue the unchanging God, with hopeful expectation to understand Him more deeply, and experience His goodness more completely!
Our posture determines how we pursue God! Arrogance and apathy sever any relationship, especially a relationship with God. Contrariwise, humility and spiritual hunger always place us in the center of God’s presence! This is why we are observing a 21-day fast starting January 10th! The plan AND ways to participate will be unpacked this Sunday!
NOW LET’S TALK ABOUT SUNDAY! January 2nd will be ONLINE ONLY, and here are some of the reasons that brought us to this decision. Many within the GrowPoint family have been hit with the latest strand of Covid. Our decision to not meet in-person is the best way to express care and value to the larger church community, and specifically to our volunteers.
Please read through the following details for this Sunday:
- No 9:00 am Breakthrough Prayer
- Sunday, January 2nd is now an online only service, so please plan to join us at 10:30 am online at growpoint.online, Facebook or YouTube.
- Please be ready to receive communion from home! Prepare your bread or crackers along with your juice. We will remember our Lord together during the online service.
- Options for Giving include: online giving securely at growpoint.church/give, by mailing to PO Box 146, Amherst, OH 44001, or wait till Sunday, January 9th to give in-person.
- GrowStudents will NOT meet Sunday night.
Let me express once more that safety and care for the entire GrowPoint Family is at the center of our decision-making process. We all share a common passion to come together and lift up Jesus’ name. We also share a Jesus-like concern for one another. Philippians 2 paints an elaborate image of thoughtfulness toward one another. Verse 4 reads like this: “Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” For the vast majority of our life, this verse has motivated us to rally around one another (going the extra mile type of stuff). But in the context of COVID, we must improvise on how we look to the interests of others.
As a reminder, prayer requests can be submitted online to the GrowPoint Prayer Wall at growpoint.church/prayer.
We anticipate that Sunday, January 9th will resume with in-person services! Let’s continue to walk through this season in prayerful unity, as well as perpetual flexibility!
Happy New Year!
