Easter 2024 Testimony Invite

Jesus never promised us that our life would be free from pain and suffering, BUT He did promise to make a way through. In the Gospel of John, Jesus expressed this truth to his followers saying, “…Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33). Life is marked with challenges and pain, but Jesus has overcome; Jesus holds the victory! Amen. So, what does this have to do with you? We asked ourselves this question: Who at GrowPoint has walked through AND embraced a season of suffering which produced good fruit? As we settled into that question, Jesus highlighted your story to us, and we would love for your story to serve as an example to others during our Easter services this year!

This special service element will be similar to cardboard testimonies (if you’ve never seen that before you can watch this video for an example: https://youtu.be/FioNdZ1RBDU). Instead of holding a sign, we will be using projection to display the words that you put to your testimony.

Commitment:

  • Please send us your words for your testimony with the link below by Sunday, March 17.
  • Sunday, March 24, immediately after the 11am service, meet in the sanctuary for a quick run through of this portion of the service. We will also be filming a quick video of you smiling into a camera to be part of the projection element (you will not have to speak).
  • Attend both 9:00 & 11:00am services Easter Sunday

Coaching for Testimony before & after words

  • BRIEF is of the utmost importance. Please keep to 3-5 words max for each side of your sign. We need large words so it can be easily read from the audience.
  • BEFORE JESUS: What was the cause of the pain and the suffering you experienced? Examples: broken marriage, rejected by _______, addiction to _______, crippled by anxiety, overcome with grief. Add a descriptive word that helps to define the brokenness/suffering.
  • AFTER JESUS: What has Jesus Resurrected in your life?
  • Watch the video link provided above to help with ideas for wording and consolidating words.

If you are unable or uninterested in participating please let us know using the button above.

We can’t wait to give Heavenly Dad ALL the glory for what He has done in you this Easter! If you have any other questions, please email Sam Kamnikar at skamnikar@growpoint.church.

GrowStudents Summer Camp 2024

Our GrowStudents are extremely excited to be returning to “Miracle Camp” in Lawton, Michigan for 4 days and 3 nights from June 30th – July 3rd for a true “camp” experience. Last year, our students had an unforgettable experience hearing from God, building relationships and participating in activities like zip-lining, a high ropes course, a paintball course ($10 additional paid at camp), hiking and mountain biking trails, a water trampoline and blob, canoeing, kayaking, and spending time on Bankson Lake! Check out this video to see for yourself all the fun Miracle Camp has to offer!

Are there additional camp scholarships?

It is our desire that no student misses out on Summer Camp due to finances. Thanks to the generosity of our GrowPoint Family, every student who attends summer camp receives a $130 discount automatically on their camp registration. For the past several years, we have been able to offer further scholarships to those who need assistance with camp registration costs. This year, we have a limited amount of partial scholarships available on a first come, first serve basis. The deadline to apply for a partial camp scholarship is May 10. We’d love to help if you are in need of additional assistance. Should your application be accepted, you will receive a promo code for you to use when registering for camp. *Please note, these additional limited financial scholarships are for families that are experiencing financial hardships.

How do I register my camper?

Camp Registration Costs & Deadlines
Early Bird Registration: $215 | Deadline: May 24
Regular Registration: $230 | Deadline: June 14

Step One: Register your student using the online registration form and pay to save your spot! If you are applying for a partial camp scholarship, that must be completed before registering for camp so that if approved, we can provide you with a discount code for registration. Registration closes on June 14th at 11:59pm.

Step Two: Upon completion of registration, you will be directed to fill out two additional waivers. The first waiver is the GrowStudents Summer Camp 2023 Parental/Legal Guardian Consent & Liability Waiver/Hold Harmless Form. The second waiver is from Miracle Camp which allows your campers to attend and participate in camp activities. Both of these waivers are REQUIRED for anyone attending camp this summer.

Knowing that this is a lot of information for you and your student, we have created a FAQ page to help provide answers to any immediate questions you may have. We hope this brings clarity to our vision and helps you plan for this camp.

We are so excited to head to camp with GrowStudents this summer! If you have any questions please feel free to reach out!

FAQ’s

What should I know about Miracle Camp?

Miracle Camp has trained staff overseeing each activity (zip-lining, archery, paintball, etc.), lifeguards, and security that patrols the campgrounds at night. The GrowPoint leadership team will be developing all services and programming for GrowStudents. Please note: Miracle Camp will also be holding their own programmed camp at the facility during part of our camp. The only time our students will see other campers is in passing at the dining hall, but all sleeping arrangements, activities, and services will be GrowStudents only. You can visit their website to learn more or check out this video to see what they have to offer.

Who will be the camp speaker this year?

We are thrilled to announce Pastor Brandon Dirmann as our guest speaker for GrowStudents Summer Camp 2024! With 15 years in ministry, including a decade devoted to youth, Pastor Brandon currently serves as the Campus Pastor at Lakeshore Christian Fellowship in South Carolina. Celebrating 15 years of marriage to his wife Jenny and raising four incredible children—Evelyn, Brooklynne, Graham, and Bethany—Pastor Brandon brings a wealth of experience and a heartfelt connection with people. You can find Brandon enjoying Mexican cuisine, golf, and music, emphasizing the importance of community through quality time spent with friends and family. Join us as we eagerly anticipate the invaluable insights he will bring to our youth!

How will my student get to camp?

We have reserved two school buses to transport our students, leadership, and luggage to and from camp.

When will the group be leaving and returning?

GrowStudents will be meeting in the front parking lot of GrowPoint Church on Sunday, June 30th at 9:00 am. The trip will be three and a half hours to Miracle Camp.

You can expect your student to return to the church on Wednesday, July 3rd around 6pm. In the past, we have encouraged students to give parents a 30 minute heads-up so you are aware of the exact time.

What meals will be needed during traveling?

We will be stopping at a travel plaza for lunch on the way to camp. Students will need to bring money to buy their own meals. Dinner will be provided at the camp that evening.

On Wednesday, students will have both breakfast and lunch at camp. We will not be stopping for a meal on the way back since we are expected to arrive home around dinner time.

What if my student has a food allergy?

Miracle Camp serves all their meals buffet style. Students will get to pick and choose what food they would like to eat. They have gluten free options and are willing to make other accommodations. Please make sure to include any food allergies or dietary restrictions in your registration form so that we may communicate that with camp staff.

What are the sleeping arrangements?

We will have two separate cabins for our boys and girls. Each cabin will have twin-sized bunk beds and communal bathrooms. GrowPoint leaders will be sleeping in the cabins with our students.

What should my student do with medication?

We will have a camp nurse from GrowPoint who will collect all of our students’ medications. The nurse will keep and administer medications as prescribed. When filling out your students registration form, you should specify what condition and medication your child will be bringing. The medication should be in a ziplock bag labeled with their name, medication, and dosage.

Will my student need to bring additional cash?

Again, students will need to bring money for lunch on the way to camp. There will be a camp store available for students to purchase snacks, drinks, ice cream, and camp merchandise. If students choose to participate in paintball, there will be an additional $10 fee for ammunition each round they decide to play. These are optional but available to our students.

What about Summer Camp T-shirts?

T-shirts for GrowStudents Summer Camp are available as a $12 “add-on” to camp registration this year in order to keep the base price of camp as low as possible.

Will my student have access to their phone?

We collect every student’s phone before we leave for camp. This is something we have done for camp every year to help students unplug from outside distractions and fully enjoy their camp experience. In the past, students have testified to this helping them build connections with other students as well as being intentional about seeking the Lord. If there is an emergency and you would like to reach your child, leader contact information will be provided upon registering your child.
