GrowStudents Summer Camp 2023

Our GrowStudents are extremely excited to be returning to “Miracle Camp” in Lawton, Michigan for 4 days and 3 nights from July 1st through the 4th for a true “camp” experience. Last year, our students had an unforgettable experience hearing from God, building relationships and participating in activities like zip-lining, a high ropes course, a paintball course ($10 additional paid at camp), hiking and mountain biking trails, a water trampoline and blob, canoeing, kayaking, and spending time on Bankson Lake! Check out this video to see for yourself all the fun Miracle Camp has to offer!

Are there additional camp scholarships?

It is our desire that no student misses out on Summer Camp due to finances. Thanks to the generosity of our GrowPoint Family, every student who attends summer camp receives a $130 discount automatically on their camp registration. For the past several years, we have been able to offer further scholarships to those who need assistance with camp registration costs. This year, we have a limited amount of partial scholarships available on a first come, first serve basis. The deadline to apply for a partial camp scholarship is June 2nd. We’d love to help if you are in need of additional assistance. Should your application be accepted, you will receive a promo code for you to use when registering for camp. *Please note, these additional limited financial scholarships are for families that are experiencing financial hardships.

FAQ’s

Miracle Camp has trained staff overseeing each activity (zip-lining, archery, paintball, etc.), lifeguards, and security that patrols the campgrounds at night. The GrowPoint leadership team will be developing all services and programming for GrowStudents. Please note: Miracle Camp will also be holding their own programmed camp at the facility during part of our camp. The only time our students will see other campers is in passing at the dining hall, but all sleeping arrangements, activities, and services will be GrowStudents only. We are thrilled to have Pastor Manny Gonzalez join us as our camp speaker for 2023! Manny is the Youth Pastor at Gettysburg Foursquare Church and is passionate about inspiring the next generation. Our students spent time with Manny at Unified Youth Conference and are going into this summer camp having already established a connection with him! Manny enjoys spending time with our students on the basketball court as well as getting to know them personally.

We have reserved three school buses with First Student to transport our students, leadership, and luggage to and from camp. This is the same company we have used for camps in the past.

When will the group be leaving and returning?

GrowStudents will be meeting in the front parking lot of GrowPoint Church on Saturday, July 1st at 9:00 am. The trip will be three and a half hours to Miracle Camp.

You can expect your student to return to the church on Tuesday, July 4th around 6pm. In the past, we have encouraged students to give parents a 30 minute heads-up so you are aware of the exact time.

What meals will be needed during traveling?

We will be stopping at a travel plaza for lunch on the way to camp. Students will need to bring money to buy their own meals. Dinner will be provided at the camp that evening.

On Tuesday, students will have both breakfast and lunch at camp. We will not be stopping for a meal on the way back since we are expected to arrive home around dinner time.

What if my student has a food allergy?

Miracle Camp serves all their meals buffet style. Students will get to pick and choose what food they would like to eat. They have gluten free options and are willing to make other accommodations. GrowStudents Summer Camp 2022

We continue to see God do amazing things in our youth ministry, and we are excited to share what is right around the corner! This evening, we announced to our students that this summer we are transitioning to something brand new for camp!

We have attended Camp McPherson for many years, and it holds a very special place in our hearts. Camp McPherson is currently owned by Foursquare, GrowPoint’s church association, but over the past few years the movement has started to sell their camp properties across the U.S. due to financial sustainability. This move to sell these properties has changed the “camp” experience to more of a hotel/conference style environment for many summer camps. While Camp McPherson has not been sold yet, we have chosen to get ahead of the curve and seek out other camp facilities.  This decision will enable GrowPoint to create a true “camp” experience for our students that aligns with our GrowPoint values and priorities.

This summer, GrowStudents will be traveling to “Miracle Camp” in Lawton, Michigan for 4 days and 3 nights from June 27th through the 30th for a true “camp” experience. Students will have an unforgettable experience hearing from God, building relationships and participating in activities like zip-lining, a high ropes course, a paintball course ($10 additional paid at camp), hiking and mountain biking trails, a water trampoline and blob, canoeing, kayaking, and spending time on Bankson Lake! Check out this video to see for yourself all the fun Miracle Camp has to offer!
