Main Point: Jesus can take what we give Him—no matter how small—and do something amazing!
Prepare an evening snack that mimics the little boy’s lunch – 5 loaves (crackers, bread, . . .) and 2 fish (goldfish crackers, Swedish Fish, sardines,…).
Place the “lunch” (crackers and fish snacks) in the basket. Have one person pretend to be Jesus and the others pretend to be the crowd. “Jesus” gives thanks for the food and then pretends to share it around. Talk about how Jesus made a little into a lot and how He can use what we give Him too.
Multiply the Blessings Challenge:
On slips of paper, have each family member write or draw one way they can “share their lunch”—something small they can give to God or others this week (time, kindness, a toy, helping someone, etc.). Place the slips in the basket and pull each one individually and pray together: “Jesus, take what we give You and use it to bless others—just like You did with the boy’s lunch!”
