Isaiah is the first of 4 major prophets we will be meeting in the next 4 weeks. We learned this week that prophets are messengers from God and God gives them a message and then it is their responsibility to share that message with others. In order for Isaiah to be a prophet that God could trust to share his message, Isaiah first had to show his true heart that he wanted to be a messenger for God. That is why it was important that he bowed before God and said “Here am I send me, but I am a man of unclean lips”. God had to purify him before Isaiah could be a messenger for God. Discuss as a family:
1). What was Isaiah’s response when God asked “Who will I send? Who will go for us”? (Isaiah 6:8)
2). Can you think of a time when God asked you to do something for Him? If not, take time as a family and pray asking the Holy Spirit to show you what He would want you to do.
3). Share what your response is to what God is asking you to do – are you excited, anxious, scared, confused. Pray to have the heart of Isaiah to be a messenger of His love in your family and community.
