LITTLE MAN, BIG FAITH: THE STORY OF ZACCHAEUS

LUKE 19:1-10

Discuss

Zacchaeus is a prime example of Jesus’ mission on earth to “seek and save those who are lost”. We learned that Zacc (our nickname for him) was a tax collector who cheated people out of their money and was not liked by the people in Jericho. Despite Zacc’s less than perfect character, Jesus sought him out from high up in the Sycamore tree and dined at his house. During that meal, Zacc became a fully committed follower of Jesus even giving back 4x what he had stolen from the people. True repentance at its best! Talk with your family about people in your life that do not currently know Jesus (have your kids write down names of friends their age that they want to know Jesus) and take time to pray that they would have a change of heart like Zacc and become followers of Jesus.

Weekly Challenge

This Sunday, we went all in on presenting the Gospel message. Each child received a booklet ‘The Gospel” which outlined the path to salvation and we reviewed it together as our lesson. At the end of the presentation, kids were offered the opportunity to respond to Jesus as their Savior and commit to follow Him for their entire life. The challenge this week is for you as a family to watch the video provided and review “The Gospel” booklet. This is a wonderful opportunity as parents to reinforce God’s plan for salvation and your child’s understanding of Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice to provide salvation for mankind!
